One of the positives to come out of the current crisis has been the recognition of key workers whether it be NHS staff, supply chain workers, community interest companies, and the many others. We have seen individuals and companies unite in common goals under extreme conditions.
We have been delighted to help in any way we can and would like to share with you a message we received from Chris Green, Operations Director at Food Revival who we recently supplied with 2 vehicles free of charge.
“Just a quick note of thanks to say how we have been using the vans you kindly lent us and the impact they have had on our business.
On a normal week, we collect, sort, and distribute around 7-8 tonnes. With the majority of that going to primary schools in the Leeds and Bradford district.
Since the outbreak of covid-19, we have seen those figures rise to 40 tonnes a week. Without your vans wouldn’t have been able to cope or store the extra food collected.
The majority of the extra food has gone to Leeds city council, who have then made parcels up to be given to who they see fit.
So from everyone at Food Revival, a massive thank you.”
